Mary Granger Climate of Excellence Award
Mary Granger Climate of Excellence Award celebrates an honoree who has demonstrated outstanding
leadership in our community in the area of arts, culture or heritage.
The honoree will have demonstrated an ability to:
- Provide valuable service by devoting time and energy to advance the causes of art, culture or heritage in the
SW Washington community.
- Be creative and have initiative in the areas of art, culture or heritage in the SW Washington area.
- Provide leadership through artistic endeavor, philanthropy, education, or through personal volunteer effort.
Process:
A committee of community leaders function as the review and selection committee. After evaluating all of the nominations,
only the name of the honoree will be announced. The name of the Recipient of the Mary Granger Climate of Excellence Award is then announced at the Women In Action Spring Luncheon.
Past winners include:
2000 - Mary Granger
2001 - Eleanor Van de Water & Kaye Masco
Eleanor was selected for leadership as an artist, educator and volunteer. Noted as a fiber artist, especially for the Vancouver Tapestry Project.
Kay was nominated for her efficient, quiet, caring and effective community involvement.
2002 - Jane Elder Wulff -
Reknown community volunteer, educator and writer. Author of Vancouver 2000: Profiles in Prosperity
2003- Analese Forster -
Instrumental volunteer role in bringing fine arts to the WSU Vancouver campus.
2004 - Val Ogden
2005- Leslie B Durst
2006- Cheryl Easter
