The ATHENA Award
The ATHENA Award is a nationwide program designed to honor women who strive toward their highest level of accomplishment and leadership, not only excelling in their chosen fields, but also creating paths so that others may follow. Locally, the ATHENA Award is presented by Women In Action and the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. This is the
ninth year that WIA has been part of this wonderful program. We are extremely proud of the fact that most of the award recipients were also WIA members.
The ATHENA Award is a nationwide program designed to honor women who strive
toward their highest level of accomplishment and leadership, not only
excelling in their chosen fields, but also creating paths that others may
follow.
Many of these recipients have accomplished extraordinary things from
seemingly ordinary tasks. Recognizing that things need to be done, then
igniting passion in themselves and others, they met the need with dignity,
grace and sensitivity.
